Seven degrees of separation

Worth the drive - it's cheaper than air conditioning
It's just after midnight and for some inexplicable reason we are in the city. It's been 35C all day and it's not much cooler now. Being British I am ignorant in the field of air conditioning. Why would I need that in England? So we are dying in our upper duplex. Opening the windows and doors makes no difference.
So what do we do? We drive up to the country to sleep. It was worth it just to watch the temperature drop from 29C to 22C on the car thermometer.
Walking home from the Metro yesterday at 35C I thought of one night just five months earlier when I battled a blizzard at close to -30C in exactly the same location.  Just for a minute I wished for snow.......
